Organizational Development

There’s an old saying that goes…”Any road will get you there if you don’t know where you’re going”. In order to drive effectively toward reaching your organizational objectives, you’ll need to map out a road that will actually take you where you want to go.

Ace Consulting Group can help you to…

  • Align your strategic plan to your people systems to help you achieve the goals that will lead you to your future vision. The first step is to determine what competencies you will need in order to accomplish your strategic plan.
  • Provide specific “competency profiles” for individuals, teams, jobs or departments to ensure that performance expectations remain consistent across your organization
  • Assess the current combination of competencies, culture and organizational capabilities to create a goal-based action plan for achieving your business strategy.
  • Identify the most and least effective learning methods among individuals and teams so an organization builds knowledge at optimum level.
  • Monitor learning methods over time, so techniques don’t become over-used, misused or under-used.
  • Identify competencies, behaviors and mind-sets that are required to lead organizational change.
  • Identify development, cultural or group-dynamic issues that impact an organization’s performance, and provide clear recommendations for resolving conflicts before they become destructive.
  • Create systems that build your future by identifying key contributors and support their development for roles of higher responsibility.
  • Align desired outcomes with the desired culture, behaviors, measures and organizational levers

Our Organizational Development work includes working with our clients in the following five areas:

Increased competition, globalization, and the technology are forcing organizations to review their strategies. Organizational Culture

Successful companies have developed something special that supersedes corporate strategy, market presence, or technological advantages. They have found the power that resides in developing and managing a unique corporate culture. Most organizational scholars now recognize that organizational culture has a powerful effect on the performance and long-term effectiveness of organizations.

In addition to organization-level effects, the impact of organizational culture on individuals–e.g., employee morale, commitment, productivity, physical health, and emotional well-being–is also well-documented. Today’s businesses need to plan their road to success while dealing with unprecedented and relentless change. As external events transform the business environment, management must constantly rethink how their business is designed, and be capable of managing change, in order to achieve and sustain superior performance.

Our purpose is to assist you in understanding a way in which culture can be diagnosed and changed in order to enhance organizational performance. Since culture is such a crucial factor in the long-term effectiveness of organizations, it is imperative that those charged with studying and/or managing organizational culture be able to measure key dimensions of culture and to develop a strategy for changing it.

At Ace Consulting Group, we believe that success will result from aligning structures, processes, people and business processes, systems and rules to the overall vision. Organizational Change

Today, most businesses are facing more turbulent markets, more demanding shareholders and more discerning customers, and many, like you, are restructuring to meet such challenges. The pressures on business are greater today than ever. Global competition, oppressive macroeconomic conditions, and informed, discerning customers mean businesses must deliver ever higher levels of quality and service, at competitive prices. Quite often these pressures necessitate changing how the organization operates – to inject a more commercial outlook, to redefine roles, to eliminate unproductive work habits, or to integrate a new technology to support the business.

Organizational Change Management (OCM) is the process of realigning an organization to meet the changing demands of its business environment, including improving service delivery and capitalizing on business opportunities. This change is generally underpinned by improvement to the business process and newer better suited technologies. OCM includes the management of changes to the organizational culture, business processes, physical environment, job responsibilities, staff skills/knowledge and policies/procedures.

Effective OCM ensures that the inevitable changes that occur in any organization due to changes in the Processes, Tools (Software) and Roles & Responsibilities are mitigated in an organized and positive manner. This means that instead of becoming full-blown crises, possible impacts due to changes in organization are considered, change management strategies are appropriately documented, reviewed and communicated, and decisions are implemented by the appropriate parties. Effective OCM along with effective communications can make the difference between failure and success.

Whether the change is large or small, the ability to manage it is a critical component of high performance. Ace Consulting Group helps organizations prepare for coming changes, manage the complex organizational and workforce transition to the desired end state. And we help them operate successfully once a business solution or transformation is in place to realize the greatest long-term value from their business improvement efforts.

Ace Consulting Group believes effective change management is best driven by people in the organization undergoing the change – the owners of the particular business process – supported where necessary by hands-on specialist practitioners at critical junctures. Our approach to change management is resource driven. We aren’t consultants, and we don’t prescribe methodologies. What we can deliver is an experienced change manager or change program director, with a track record of delivering successful change in similar circumstances, and if necessary, with mastery of specific change management tools.

In more recent years, the focus of HR has got shifted again from what practices constitute human resource management to the broader impact of human resource management and its relationship to the organizational strategy and its resulting impact on the overall performance, people and culture of the organization.
